3 Days Old

Hi,
Today I am 3 days old. Mummy decided to post a photo of me cuddling with my siblings. There are a total of 9 of us, small black and tan looking rats. Yup, rats, baby airedales look like rats. Right now, we sleep a lot, and we love to keep ourselves warm, by sleeping in a "puppy pile". Do you know why? Newborn puppies like us have no temperature control, but luckily, our facial nerve is mature and we use our heads like a probe, avoiding cold hard surfaces and liking soft warm ones. That's when many brothers and sisters come in handy. Although we can't see yet, because our eyes are not opened, our sense of smell is strong, and our sense of touch too, and finding our doggie mum's teat comes naturally to us. Did I mention my favourite food is milk? Yummmy.

I hear a rumour going around, someone mentioned "tail docking and dewclaw removal". I wonder what this is all about. Will it hurt?

Mummy told me in a dream last night, it won't hurt too much. Wow, I feel so much better after she told me that. She told me that a very smart man once wrote in a book, that our puppy brains are so undeveloped at this point, that our nerves are slow, and this causes our response to any type of stimuli to be slow. This is why my brothers, sisters and I will have less pain sensation, and this is the reason that tails are docked when we are less than 3 days old. I guess this means this "tail docking and dewclaw removal" thing must be happening quite soon. Oops

Kimi

My First Real World Picture

Today, mummy got my first ever real world photograph. Today, I'm only 2 days old, and we look like little rats. The beautiful airedale you see in the photos is my doggie mum, Twinkie.
I'm eating well, pooping well, and squirming all around. My breeder says this is very good for a young puppy like me. So far, my favourite food includes milk, and more milk. Yummy, milk is goooood...

Kimi

So This Is My World....

Everyone thought we'd pop out on the 30th Nov 2005, but guess what? My brothers, sisters and I decided that a Sunday, Nov 27th would be the perfect date to be welcomed into this beautiful world. Yippeee.... Its my birthday.
My litter has 5 boys and 4 girls, and I'm one of those 5. My humans are thrilled to receive Terry's email that I've been born, they had no idea till Monday evening. Granpa (Mummy Sheila's papa) has a theory that over the cosmos, emotions, thoughts and well-wishes can be transmitted over time, distance and obstacles. I say this because I can certainly feel my mummy's immense love for me, and her joy bubbling up. My daddy was also thrilled to hear I arrived early. And they haven't even seen me yet. I came as a surprise!
Mummy Sheila will be posting pics of me as I grow up, so stay tuned. Cheerio!
Love,
Kimi

Welcome to my dedicated BLOG.

Hi there,
It is 2 days before my due date to come out into the real world. Yup, my doggie mum (a.k.a. Twinkle) is pregnant with me in her BIG tummy. I'm happily sleeping and snuggling in my pouch, with all my other brothers and sisters. Mmmm, we're in a cosy little world, and everyday, we're getting bigger, and we're getting a bit more crowded. I wonder when we'll all pop out, and I'm so excited!
I hear my maternal breeder say that there is a human called Sheila who's going to be my forever Mummy. Wowee!! I'm going to have a human Mummy and Daddy. His name is Olaf.
Here is a photo of me. I'm in there somewhere....
Feel free to pop by anytime and read my daily adventures.. Woohoo!
Love,
Kimi
